The penultimate day of the 16th FINA World Championships will reveal the winners in seven medal events. Today, the last water polo matches will be played at the tournament, and fans will find out the names of the new world champions in the men's draw. Meanwhile, six similar titles in swimming await their owners at the Kazan Arena Stadium.

The swimmers will begin their competitive schedule at the Kazan Arena Stadium at 9:30. At this time, the morning session will kick off and will last until 13:20. Those attending the main sports venue of the FINA Worlds 2015 will witness five preliminary races.

As for the final heats, as usual they are scheduled to be held in the evening. On August 8, 6 finals are to be contested at once: the women's 50m butterfly, 200m backstroke and 800m freestyle, the men's 50m freestyle and 100m butterfly, and finally the mixed 4x100 freestyle.

Today, the last matches will be played in the men’s water polo tournament. The global sports community will finally find out the name of the new title holder in the men's draw. There are only two contenders: Croatia and Serbia.

Croatia is the current Olympic champion. But for the last three times, the national team consistently settled for bronze at world championships. In Kazan, the Croats already got through the semifinal, and now the team's fans see no obstacle on their way to the top podium spot.

But the Serbian national team who are the winners of the previous three World Series, have the right to disagree. It will be curious to see who will suffer first defeat at the tournament in the upmost match of the year. The start is scheduled for 22:30.

The 3rd place match, where the teams contesting the bronze medal are Greece and Italy, will serve as a sort of  rehearsal ahead of the final. Both teams have a unique game scheme, but during the tournament, the contenders have already managed to explore the strengths and weaknesses of each other, and it will be interesting to watch what surprises the coaches have prepared for the end. There is not long to wait, and we shall see at 20:00 what happens when the start is signalled.
